Banaban Primary School was built in 1951 soon after the arrival of the Banaban natives on Rabi in 1945 during the Colonial days when they were relocated from Ocean Island due to the mining of phosphate that transpired on their homeland. It is the first school built on Rabi. The school was officially registered on the 23rd of June, 1951, and given the registration number 1233. The school's very early development was assisted by the British Government under the leadership of Mr Jobson, a British Head Teacher. Our forefathers built the school for they had a lot of aspirations for the generations to come. It is our duty to as students, teachers, parents and stakeholders is to add value to the work they had begun.
